Spain's Rafael Nadal was looking to reinforce his reputation as the King of Clay at Roland Garros Sunday. He took on Swiss world number one Roger Federer in a bid to become the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1980 to win three French Opens in a row.

In a repeat of the 2006 final, many were picking Roger Federer to reverse last year's result after his win over Nadal in the final of the Hamburg Masters last month.
