China's Olympic footballers are in Toulon, France for their opening game against Portugal in the International Youth Football Festival.

They will be hoping to do a better job than in their previous appearance, when they finished a disappointing fourth place.

The team arrived in Toulon on Wednesday, with a squad dominated by first-timers at the eight-nation tournament. They are to take on Portugal in the first game late on Friday.

China lost to Portugal after a penalty shootout in the third place play-off last year. But coach Ratomir Dujkovic remains confident, saying that he hopes the team will be the last one to book a flight back home.
