The Chinese women's volleyball team are getting ready for the four-nation tournament known as the Wuxi Masters that kicks off on Friday in Jiangsu province. The women will be hoping to win their first international title this year after months of strenuous training.
The women's volleyball team continued training early on Thursday. This, one day before their opening match against the Dominican Republic at the four-nation tournament known as the Wuxi Masters.
The team has wasted no time during their physical training. They have been doing this for the past few months, as they see that a stronger body helps better to counter powerful opponents.
Head Coach Chen Zhonghe said the upcoming event is a good test for the team's newcomers.
China head coach Chen Zhonghe said, "The competition is a test both for the team and for the individual players, especially those who have been with us for only several months. We are going to look at their performance and potential, because we need more promising and young players for the Beijing Olympics."
The other two teams competing at the tournament are Cuba and the Netherlands, who beat China at last year's World Championships.
