In round nine of the Chinese Super League, Changchun Yatai have climbed to the top of the leaderboard after a narrow 1-0 win over Tianjin Kangshifu on Sunday. In the other two matches of the day, Dalian Shide and Wuhan Guanggu played a goalless draw, while Shenzhen Shangqingyin overwhelmed the Xiamen Lions 3-1.

Changchun top list with win over Tianjin

With both teams seen as the new big forces of the league, visitors Tianjin almost went ahead in the sixth minute with a forge from the wing. The first half however, ended scoreless.

Changchun reajusted their line-up going into the second half, and they were awarded a free-kick which was headed in by Cao Tianbao in the 70th minute. 1-0 and that was that.

Scoreless draw between Dalian and Wuhan

The first match on Sunday night featured Dalian Shide and Wuhan Guanggu. Zoran Jankovic, who had been on the sidelines for the last 6 matches, attracted the most attention. Wang Peng and Zhao Xu's kicks both bounced back from the bars. And the matched ended with both sides empty handed.

Shangqingyin overwhelm Lions 3-1

The other match of the night was beween the Xiamen Lions and Shenzhen Shangqingyin. The first half ended with Xiamen leading 1-0 thanks to a goal by Li Kun.

Shenzhen made it level 5 minutes into the second half when captain Zhang Wenzhao curved the ball in from a pass. Li Hongxiang put Shenzhen ahead in the 13th minute with a long kick. Shenzhen's third goal came from a penalty kick by Li Jianhua. 3-1, for Shenzhen.
