When we arrived in Qingdao there was only four weeks left until the start of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the competitors were truly gearing up into their final stages of preparation. The seaside city was already swarming with Olympic sailors from all over the world and their accompanying team members, many of which had been coming to Qingdao on and off for the past year so they could prepare themselves as best as possible for Qingdao’s unique conditions.

You could sense the pressure they were under by the tension in the air but most of them were still happy to share their story with us. We had the opportunity to interview many sailors from many different nationalities and find out what was in their hearts and minds as the day they had been dreaming of for years was about to be finally upon them. We were also very fortunate to have exclusive footage and up front interviews with the Australian Yngling sailing team, who are favourites to win the gold. To all the athletes we met, we wish you the best of luck, and whether you place 1st ,2nd, third, or last, you are all truely winners.
