Born in Pasadena, California but grew up in New York City. She returned to Los Angeles, receiving her BA in History at UCLA.

Soon after graduating she got her first film role in “Patch Adams”. It was soon followed by a role in the much-nominated film “Traffic”. It was around this time that she first came to China and starred in her first CCTV miniseries “The Korean War”.

Subsequently she has moved back and forth between working in Hollywood films like “Bring it on” and “The Hulk” and other CCTV miniseries. At the end of 2004 she became a host for Rediscovering China on CCTV 9. Adding to her international projects, she has just finished starring in “The Counting House”, an English language film by Italian directors and producers, shooting on location in Hong Kong.

Growing up surrounded by artistic and cultural influences, Daniella’s desire to work in the entertainment industry comes as no surprise. Her mother is the pianist Dora Serviarian-Kuhn. She was born in Beruit, Lebanon of Armenian descent and is considered the leading interpreter of the Khachaturian Piano Concerto, having played it more than any other living pianist throughout the world to illustrious acclaim. Her father, Dr. Robert Kuhn, is an investment banker, corporate strategist, has a PhD in Brain Research, author of a primary biography of Jiang Zemin, and host of the television program “Closer to Truth” She has two brothers. Aaron Kuhn who is a film editor and Adam Kuhn a producer at Silver Pictures.
