The seven astronauts on board the Endeavor are scheduled to dock with the ISS on Friday. The union will mark the first time 13 people are together in space.

Endeavor was originally scheduled to blast off to the ISS in mid-June. But its launch was postponed two times because of potentially dangerous leaks of hydrogen gas.

Lightning and thunderstorms also caused the postponement of three earlier scheduled launches.

Endeavor's 16-day mission will feature five spacewalks. During that time, the shuttle astronauts will help install the third and final piece of the Japanese space station lab a porch for outdoor experiments.
