| In Germany, a photo exhibition entitled "Tibet: Past and Present" has been attracting a lot of interest at the Chinese Culture Center in Berlin. |
The exhibition shows the backwardness of the Old Tibet and the development and progress of the New Tibet. About one-hundred photos, as well as historical material help to show visitors the history of the Tibet region and its relationship with the Chinese central government. Organizers says the pictures help show the reality of the situation in Tibet from a dialectic perspective.
Johanna Resch., manager of Country desk of Int. Markets-Asia-Pacific, Fed. of German Indust., said, "I knew little about the history of Tibet. I am very excited to have a better understanding of its long history and development through these photos. I think the exhibition is successful."
Dr. Ulryk Gruschka, President of German-Chinese Friendship Assoc. in Ludwigsfelde, said, "These pictures themselves show the history and reality in Tibet. Great achievements have been made since 1959. The photos are the best witnesses."
