Liujiang: 7 meters above alert level

The level of the Liujiang river at the city of Liuzhou is now at a 20 year high. It reached 89.5 meters Sunday morning, that's seven meters above alert level.

But with heavy rains stopping for several hours, the water-level has subsided by 30 centimeters. However, many buildings remain submerged.

Prices for vegetables and many other necessities have gone up. But a railway bridge which was closed due to high water was reopened today.
