The five-time champion had never served better than he did on Friday. He never permitted Haas even a peek at a break point before taking the first set 7-6. In the second, the Swiss edged his 31 year old rival in a display of sheer brilliance before a mesmerised Centre Court.
He never looked like losing the set as he consistently found the baseline, forcing Haas into sloppy errors and taking it it 7-5. He rounded the victory off in style with a slam-dunk smash to send a warning message to his opponent in the final that he remains the one to beat in world tennis.
Roger Federer, 5-time Wimbledon Champion said "I don't know how much, you know, like a record, like my great record I have against Roddick, would come into play. I'm not sure. It starts from zero. It's the same thing with Murray's record, which he has a good one against me, but then he's never been in a Wimbledon final before. It's my seventh straight. At the end of the day, you have to let the racquet do the talking."
