| Local police investigating June's deadly bus fire in southwestern China's Sichuan Province that killed 27 people say the blaze was the work of an arsonist. |
Police say survivors said the man poured and lit the gasoline on the bus. Crime scene investigators say the remains of a lighter was found near the area where the man's body was located. Police say the arsonist probably was expecting to die in the blaze.
The criminal has been identified as Zhang Yunliang, who his daughter had been financially supporting since he went to Chengdu in 2006. But his daughter had reduced her financial assistance this year because Zhang had allegedly spent money on prostitution and gambling. He had also threatened suicide to his family many times.
