　　看过苍山，

　　once you see Mt. Cangshan,

　　大牛：韩佳，我觉得我们应该住在国际会议中心。

　　我明明知道洱海是一面湖，

　　I know Erhai is a lake

　　不是海，

　　可是看到它这么广阔无际的样子，

　　but it is so vast

　　还真有一种在海上的感觉。

　　大牛：它们好像一直跟着我们，

　　They seem to be following us.

　　它们是不是饿了？

　　Maybe they're hungry.

　　韩佳：那你问问它们！

　　Why don't you ask them?

　　大牛：哎！你们饿不饿？

　　Hey, are you hungry?

　　来 ！

　　Come on.

　　别抢，大家都有份！

　　Don't rush. Everyone has a share.

　　韩佳：给我一点，来！

　　Give me some. Here!

　　这真是海鸥翱翔，水天一色！

　　Sea gulls hovering,

　　the water and sky merging into one.

　　洱海虽然不是海，

　　Though Lake Erhai is not a sea,

　　但是比海更有韵味。

　　it's more tasteful than a sea.

　　大牛：洱海上的岛可真不少！

　　Lake Erhai really has lots of islands.

　　刚才我们经过好几个了。

　　We just passed a few of them now.

　　韩佳：没错！不过洱海上最有名的岛啊，

　　Yes. But you still haven't seen

　　你还没有看见，

　　the most famous one.

　　叫小普陀。

　　It's called Xiao Pu Tuo.

　　洱海上的岛就数它最小。

　　Of all islands on Lake Erhai,

　　it's the smallest one.

　　ěr hǎi shàng de dǎo jiù shǔ tā zuì xiǎo.

　　洱 海 上 的 岛 就 数 它 最 小。

　　It's the smallest island on Lake Erhai.

　　传说啊，

　　It was said that

　　观音菩萨为了镇压洱海中的恶龙，

　　Kwan-yin Bodhisattva threw down a seal

　　就投下了一枚印。

　　to beat down the evil dragon in Lake Erhai.

　　后来这枚印

　　Later, this seal

　　就变成了一座小岛。

　　became a small island.

　　大牛：韩佳，说了半天，

　　Han Jia, you've explained too much.

　　那座岛在哪儿呢？

　　Where is that island?

　　韩佳：你瞧，就在那儿呢！

　　Look, it's right over there.

　　小普陀！

　　Xiao Pu Tuo.

　　这洱海就像是一幅画，

　　Lake Erhai is just like a painting;

　　这小普陀岛

　　and Xiao Pu Tuo Island

　　就像是盖在画上的一方印章。

　　is just like a seal on that painting.

　　大牛：真是名副其实的山水画！

　　It's a landscape painting indeed.

　　今天咱们可都有眼福。

　　Our eyes really enjoyed a treat today.

　　韩佳：哎，要是在十五月圆的晚上

　　under a full moon,
