Live from Beijing, I'am Tian Wei and you are watching "Dialogue" on CCTV International. Compared to the 1970s, when 99 persent of Chinese enterprises were stated owned. Things have changed so much. And China's state-onwed enterprises, or SOEs, have experienced various stages of reform in order to make them more efficient and competitive.

At the moment, one of the major ways is to have Chinese private enterprises making substantial inroads into SOEs through mergers and acquisitions, even in some key industrial sectors. However, in this process, challenges also emerge.
