Intro:
The political crisis in Thailand came to a halt Tuesday with the verdict of the Constitutional Court of Thailand to dissolve the People’s Power Party. Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat has been ousted from office.
The People’s Alliance for Democracy which has organized the massive protests and occupation of the airport agree to withdraw in the belief that they have achieved the political goal.
Lurking behind all the development in Thailand has been Thaksin Shinawatra, the former prime minister who was forced into exile two years ago in a bloodless military coup.
But, can the PPP, the successor to the former Thaksin-led TRT party, make a come- back with a new name and brand? Will there be more protests and even the culmination of another military coup attempt to settle the crisis completely?
