The US will never feel ignored either over Georgia or the current presidential race. Dominating headlines is also Hurricane Gustav which played politics this Monday. But both sides have drawn lessons from what harms Hurricane Katrina has brought to President Bush. Bush’s popularity declined as a result partly due to his clumsy way of handling the disaster exactly three years ago.
Both McCain and Obama declared that they want to put politics aside for the moment to demonstrate leadership. John McCain has nominated governor of Alaska, Ms. Sara Palin to be his running mate.
And Mr. Clinton’s approval rating leads Obama by a surprising margin. In the Democrats’ convention, president Clinton and Senator Clinton both pledged their full support for Senator Obama who has chosen Senator Joe Biden to be the candidate for his vice president. Now both sides are fighting for the middle, the swing votes to win the race.
