During the short run up to the Paralympics, the host city of Beijing gears up to embrace a more challenging task. But it is ready to turn the whole city into a sweet home with many public places being equipped with barrier-free facilities to serve the disabled athletes.

The Olympic rings have been replaced quickly and efficiently with a new icon, a stylized figure of athlete in motion in the colors of red, blue and green to indicate a spirit in motion.
