New movies hit the big screen

A slew of new movies hit the big screen this May, setting off a small box office boom despite the global recession. We now count down the best offerings this passing weekend.

No 5. Ticket

"Ticket" is the latest movie from Zhang Zhiliang, director of "Battle of Wits". It marks Zhang's return to art-house movies from his former attempt at action films. This tear-jerker tells about a baby girl abandoned by her mother, and raised up in an abbey. When she grows up, the girl embarks on a journey to find her mother, harboring complicated emotions. Mainland actress Zuo Xiaoqing teams up with Taiwan singer and actor Nicky Wu.
