On Friday morning, a ceremony was held to launch the project, which will restore the centuries-old post station "Jimingyi" over the next three years. More than 500 million yuan RMB will be chiefly spent on repairing the walls around building complex, and adding infrastructure such as running water and electricity.

The Plan for the Protection of Cultural Relics of Jimingyi Post Station has been approved by the State Cultural Relics Bureau. Under the plan, the renovation will convert the post office into a combined tourism attraction and heritage site.
