Shanghai TV has been a pioneer of China's television industry since the broadcaster was founded 50 years ago. Three generations of Shanghai TV employees gathered during the weekend to reflect on the past and look to the future.

The meeting brought back memories of the earliest days following the launch of Shanghai TV. Veterans shared their experiences with the younger generation, who hold the future of Shanghai TV.

Song Dan, veteran of Shanghai TV, said, "I hope these young people will create new miracles for Shanghai TV."

Shanghai TV has been a pioneer of China's television industry since the broadcaster was founded 50 years ago.

Shanghai TV was launched October 1, 1958. About 10,000 Shanghai residents were watching at that historic moment when Shanghai TV signed on for the first time. It was the second TV station in China after Beijing TV which later became China Central Television. Shanghai TV was the first provincial-level station in the country.
