The country's first museum dedicated to the Elunchun ethnic community, opened Monday. The new facility is a subsidiary institution to the China National Museum in Beijing.

The museum houses more than seven hundred artifacts. They pertain to the history, culture and custom of the Elunchun people. The new museum aims to become a key center for the study of the Elunchun culture.
The minority group, historically have dwelt in mountainous regions of Heilongjiang Province and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the north of China.
