Accolades were handed out in London, Monday as the music publication Q Magazine handed out gongs for the best in popular music.

Chart stars Coldplay took home two awards: 'The Best Act in the World Today' and 'Best Album' for 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends'.
The 'Best New Act' went to The Last Shadow Puppets, which narrowly missed out on the Nationwide Mercury Prize one month ago.
Welsh singer, Duffy, accepted her award for 'Breakthrough Artist' via video-link. Other nominees for the award were Adele and Australian Gabriella Cilmi.
The singer's Number 1 British hit 'Mercy' lost out for 'Best Track.' The gong went to Keane for its song, 'Spiralling'.
The Kaiser Chiefs picked up the award for 'Best Live Act.' Bristolians Massive Attack were recognized for "Innovation in Sound".
Alongside today's popular artists were those from years gone-by. Adam Ant was deemed the event's music 'Icon.' The 'Q Idol' award went to Grace Jones. Pink Floyd's David Gilmour was honoured for his 'Outstanding Contribution to Music'.
