The fairytale Cinderella is an old favorite for children and many adults as well. And now the sweet story has come to China. After meeting the media in the northwestern city of Xi'an, the cast and crew of the Broadway musical "Cinderella" will revive the romance on the stage of Beijing Exhibition Center Theatre on October 24th. On today's Spotlight, we take a look at the ever popular romance.

Filipino Tony-award winner, Lea Salonga, and her Australian prince, Peter Sade, attended the Beijing press conference. Famous Chinese opera singer Wang Luoyong has also showed his support for the singers and the musical. Wang praised Salonga's own experience in becoming a Tony award winner, saying her real life story is a fairytale come true.

The Broadway musical "Cinderella" will be staged at the Beijing Exhibition Center Theatre for eight nights from October 24th. The spell will end at the stroke of midnight. Everything will change back - the beautiful dress, the glittering glass slippers, the carriage and horses... everything except the kind heart of Cinderella who finally moved the fairy godmother and won her true love.

Lead singer Lea Salonga is a multi-award winning Filipino singer and actress. Her big breakthrough came when she was selected to play Kim in the mega-hit musical "Miss Saigon".

The Emmy award-winning production of "Cinderella" features the classic songs Ten Minutes Ago, Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful, Impossible and A Lovely Night, to name just a few.

It's an amazing cavalcade of enchanting characters, unforgettable songs, vibrant costumes by the famous designer Renato Balestra and a magical set.
