Musicians are expressing their passion for the Olympics. Many Olympic songs have hit the charts and resounded through the lanes of Beijing. We've chosen five for our countdown this week.

No.5 Sky

The lyrics are by Zhu Zejun - blending Chinese and English. The tune was penned by Yinqing. The singer is Tan Jing. The song is an expression of Chinese culture and of a hope for world peace. The tune also extends a friendly welcome from all Chinese people to people of the world who come for the Games.

No.4 Light the Passion, Share the Dream

"Light the Passion, Share the Dream" is the theme for the Olympic Torch relay. It's performed by Lee-hom Wong, Stephane Sun, Wang Feng and Zhang Liangying. "Light the Passion, Share the Dream" is also the slogan for the Olympic Torch relay. The song has been a great booster for the Olympic spirit and for the morale of tens of thousands of bearers of the Olympic torch.

No.3 Forever Friends

Italian composer Giorgio Moroder and Chinese pianist Kong Xiangdong are behind "Forever Friend". German artist Michael Kunze wrote the lyrics. Sun Nan and Coco Lee sing the song. The tune takes the melody of the Chinese folk song Liu Yang River, giving prominence to the Oriental flavour of this year's games.

No.2 We Are Ready

The song was written to mark the date, precisely one year before the official opening of the Beijing Games. One hundred and thirty three artists participated in the recording. Jin Peida and Chen Shaoqi wrote We are Ready. The tune is popular among radio listeners. With only days until the Games, Chinese people learned the lyrics and are singing along in anticipation of the the Games extravaganza.

No.1 China See

The song was released 30 days before the games commencement. China See also serves as the theme for outdoor events in Beijing public areas. These are displays of Chinese folk arts that will be mounted for visitors to the Olympics and Paralympics. The events are intended to showcase the cultural heritage of various regions of China. The tune was written by He Muyang. Wang Pingjiu did the lyrics. It's performed by Jackie Chan and Tan Jing.
