Dashalan was the most prosperous commercial street in old Beijing. It boasts five hundred years of history. The renovations involved nearly fifty stores and dining places. Maintaining the old character and authenticity of the street were the priorities during the renovations.
For locals who have missed the street for a year, or visitors who want to catch the flavour of old Beijing the renewed Dashalan street promises to be a shoppers' delight.
