A Scottish Artist has entered the art world with his highly flammable sculptures, made of match sticks. David Mach's work is not only ingenious but ignitable.

The Scotsman has taken material normally considered a fire hazard to create his works. Sometimes he uses thousands of match sticks to create a single piece.

Creating a sculpture is a painstaking process. Matches are applied to the mould one by one. But it's not daunting for Mach. He's been doing it for 26 years.

Mach likes flammable, flamboyant pieces, not usually favoured by art conservatives. His sculptures made from 'match heads' include a fairly large menagerie of animals. He likes creating animals. Sometimes he makes them life-size. He works with a team of between 8 to 10 people to produce the match heads.

Mach occasionally ignites his sculptures. He discovered this rather dazzling form or presentation, quite by accident.
