The reopening of the Song Dynasty Porcelain Museum in Suining, is another sign of life getting back to normal. And people are amazed that not a single piece of fragile artwork, sustained the slightest damage in the earthquake.

The management of the facility says the museum's original design took into account the potential for natural disasters. Highly sophisticated measures were put into place to protect display items. The showcases at the museum are made from a special-purpose glass that's 10 millimeters thick. Transparent plastic sticks hold tall vases securely upright.
