The central China city of Luoyang will host the 2009 World Stamp Exhibition next year. Last week, in Romania, the city took possession of the official flag of the global philatelic event.

As the next host city of the event, the city of Luoyang became a focus at the 2008 World Stamp Exhibition in Bucharest. A series of promotional activities was held to introduce Luoyang. The city served as the capital to some of China's most influential imperial dynasties.

A high profile conference wrapped up the 2008 World Stamp show. Attending were senior officials from the World Association for the Development of Philately, the Universal Postal Union, and the organizing committee for the Romanian exhibition.

The 2009 World Stamp Exhibition in Luoyang will be held from April,10th to 16th. The organizing committee, says nearly 70 countries have applied to attend the seven-day exhibition, already. The exhibition is expected to draw an estimated 600 thousand visitors from home and abroad.
