Girlfriends getaways - women travelling with other women - are booming these days in the US and Canada, with women enjoying female empowerment and getting a break from the day to day grind of life.
A recent survey on women travellers conducted by the American Automobile Association (AAA) shows that vacations including just girlfriends and female family members ease stress and have become an important part of the lives of women today.
Women are taking all sorts of trips - from spas, knitting trips, golf trips, rodeo trips and tours to extreme adventure experiences. Women holiday makers say it is a chance to bond with your female friends and nurture each other.
