Soul legend Patti LaBelle is busier than ever. At the age of 64, the Grammy award winning soul diva has just released two albums. The first goes back a long way. "Live In Washington D.C." is from a 1982 concert. Old friends and producers found it in a vault.

The album features some of LaBelle's earliest live solo-recordings: 'If you Don't Know Me By Now,' 'The Spirit's In It,' and her blockbuster hit, 'Lady Marmalade.' The album is produced by fellow Philadelphians, Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff.
So how did an entire recording go undiscovered for over 26 years?
Along with the release of the 'Live' CD comes a new double-CD, that covers Patti's whole career from the 1960's up until the present day.
"The Essential Patti LaBelle" is a 30-song collection. It includes "Blue Belles," "I Sold My Heart To The Junkman"; "Moon Shadow," and solo the hit "Joy To Have Your Love."

A prolific artist, Patti's already back in the recording studios. She's been working on projects with Missy Elliot, Lenny Kravitz and Wyclef Jean.
LaBelle has a busy tour coming up. The North American swing will also provide the catalyst for the long-awaited reunion with her R&B trio, LaBelle.
Meanwhile, LaBelle's been in the recording studio with her former band mates, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash. The trio is working on its first full-length album in more than 33 years.
Not one to stay idle for a second, Patti's also working on a new solo album.
