Cinema: Speedracer hit Hong Kong theaters
The Hollywood production Speedracer is roaring along at the box office in Hong Kong. Featuring the performances of South Korean star entertainers like Rain, the movie is an adaptation of a popular Japanese comic book. While presenting thrilling scenes of race track thrills, the production also focuses on family values and youthful romance.
In his first Hollywood movie, Rain played a bad guy supporting role. Reviewing his own performance, the singer- actor found it quite satisfactory.
Interpreting the thrill filled, family story are Matrix masterminds Andy and Larry Wachowski. The two famed movie makers adopt latest CGI technologies. They tell the story of a young race car driver. He takes on the mysterious Racer X in a custom-made, gadget-loaded speed machine named the Mach 5. The automobiles racing at 400 mile per hour across the screen are sure to hold audiences spellbound.

Mavis Fan ready for Shanghai Concert
During her decade-long career, Mavis Fan has been known as the Magic Girl. On May 23rd, the singer stages a concert in Shanghai, entitled "We've Grown Up Like That".
It's promised the concert will feature a big band as well as splendid lighting and stage design. Mavis Fan will strive to present the best of her work. For fans it will be a chance to review her career over the past decade.
Mavis Fan says the Shanghai show will come in several chapters. She will perform some enduring classics from her repertoire. Then will come a jazz and rock session. Following that -- a remembrance of old times. Mavis Fan will be joined by her mother for a performance of some classic Shanghai pop songs from the 1930s.
