Director Gao Xixi announces the first group of actors for the latest TV adaptation of "Three Kingdoms". Besides Chen Jianbin, who is selected to play Cao Cao,the strategist, five other major roles have been cast.

Actress Chen Hao is to play the beauty Diao Chan, Yu Hewei takes the role Liu Bei, Liu's wife Sun Shangxiang will be portrayed by Lin Xinru. Another female role Xiaoqiao goes to Zhao Ke, and Lu Yi will bring to life the great politician, thinker and strategist Zhuge Liang. Lu Yi says he is excited about his participation in the new production, which came about largely through his efforts.

Gao Xixi, Director of TV Drama "Three Kingdoms", said, This is my first collaboration with Lu Yi. Both of us were careful about the choices we made. Lu's agent contacted with me and suggested the collaboration. I became closely acquainted with Lu Yi, before making my decision. It took about two to three months. Now I think he is the best choice for the role in terms of his age, acting skill and morals for art. I hope audiences will like him."

The question of who is the best choice for each role has been a matter for much speculation and controversy since the casting began. Diao Chan, billed as one of the four beauties in ancient China is to played by Chen Hao. Chen feels confident about her role. Chen Jianbin who will portray Cao Cao talks about his challenge as an actor.

Chen Jianbin, Actor of TV Drama "Three Kingdoms", said,"I think the most important thing is to hit a resonance with the role from the innermost. If you can't realize that, no reference would not make any sense."

The TV drama features a legion of roles. Actors for other principal roles, like Zhou Yu, Sun Quan, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei will be announced soon.
