China's Kunqu opera and Japan's Kabuki theatre are great artistic treasures of the two countries. The two traditions have come to a convergence. The Kunqu opera "Peony Pavilion" and the Kabuki version of "Concubine Yang" are jointly performed by actors from China and Japan. It's an experimental effort by Japanese kabuki master Bando Tamasaburo and China's Suzhou Kunqu Company. The program premiered in Kyoto in March. It will continue to fascinate Chinese audiences until next Thursday at the Hu Guang Guildhall in Beijing.

Sun Jiazheng, vice chairman of CPPCC attended, and met with some of the celebrities of Japan's renowned Kabuki theatre.
