About 1,100 items representing all genres of filmmaking, from silent to science-fiction to modern-day hits are up for sale.

The pieces from the "Jurassic Park" trilogy, created by Stan Winston's effects studio, include animatronic mechanisms, and a faux velociraptor fossil.

Joe Maddalena, president & CEO of Profiles in History, said, "This is screen-used. They only made one. It's made out of Styrofoam so it was stuck in the sand, and it's a key prop piece from 'Jurassic Park.' It's estimated at $20,000 to $30,000."

Maddalena says collectors as well as film actors seek him out with offers to purchase big-ticket items like those from Winston's studio. He's been making a living off it for 22 years.

Also up for auction is Mike Myers's costume from "Austin Powers in Goldmember." It's expected to sell for between 6-thousand dollars and 8-thousand. There are costumes from "Star Trek" and "Batman" costumes. Halle Berry's costume from "X-Men" is expected to fetch at least $30,000.

One of the most noteworthy pieces is a giant poster from the 1933 classic "King Kong." It was shipped to Europe and apparently never used.

Harrison Ford's side arm from "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi," is expected to fetch at least $20,000 in the auction.

Another rarity is the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' first Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, presented to Darryl Zanuck. That's expected to sell for over 150-thousand dollars.

Joe Maddalena said, "This is probably the most historically important award in Hollywood history. People are like 'What is it? It's not an Oscar.' It's more important than an Oscar. In 1937, Irving Thalberg, who was one of the pioneers of Hollywood, was honored by the Academy Awards, and they created a specific award in his name and they gave it to Darryl Zanuck. It's based upon your entire body of work in film."

Bidding opens Thursday. Bids will be taken in person, via mail, on the phone or at eBay Live Auctions on the Internet.
