The future of London's open spaces is the subject of a new exhibition in the British Capital. The exhibition focuses on forces that have shaped the Capital's extensive public spaces and on ways the city can be adapted for the ease and enjoyment of its people in the future.

The exhibition looks at how connections between different parts of the city can be improved.

It leans toward creating a better balance among vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.

One of the driving forces behind the study is the London mayor's advisor on architecture and urbanism, Lord Rogers.

Lord Richard Rogers, architect, said, "We are looking at what we call a green grid, which is a grid which will link one space to another, so you can walk or cycle throughout the whole of London so it becomes people concentrated. I mean London is for the meeting of people, I mean cities are for the meeting of people, its not really for the meeting of cars."
