Special Report:   2008 Spring Festival

The annual buzz that surrounds CCTV's signature program is back: it's almost time for the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. On Sunday, the cast and crew conducted its second gruelling rehearsal. By now, the program list is roughly set.

This year's programs are divided into five categories: language, song and dance, acrobatics and magic, interactive shows, and themed segments.

The language section has been expanded this year. One of the show's directors says this is so the show can reflect everyday life and topics of ordinary people.
