In Japan, thousands turned up on the beaches of Shonan to celebrate the coming of age of its young young people. Now let's take a closer look at how people are having fun along the cold front.
Hundreds gathered at an ice fair in the northwest of Beijing to peruse ice carvings and monument replicas from cities that previously hosted the Olympics.
Lights of various colors placed inside the ice sculptures give the ice fair a mystic glow as couples posed for photos. Among the carvings are a sculpture of the Olympic mascots, as well as the Beijing Olympics logo. Other sculptures showcased are those of athletes performing.
