Visiting South Korea's Prime Minister Han Duck-soo attended the closing ceremony of the China-Republic of Korea Exchange Year in Beijing on Monday, winding up a year long cultural exchange between the two neighbors.
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao spoke of the more than 100 activities that had drawn the peoples of China and South Korea closer together during the China-ROK Exchange Year. He called the exchanges a win-win situation which elicited warm acclamation and nurtured mutual understanding between the two countries.
Looking to the next generation, Wen Jiabao called for further exchanges involving the youth of both countries. He said ties of trust and friendship can and should be formed from childhood.
The Chinese Premier spoke of remarkable progress in bilateral ties during 15 years of diplomatic ties. The South Korean Prime Minister Agreed. Han Duck-soo said the his country will join hands with China to increase multi-level, bilateral ties, working toward a better future for all of northeast Asia.
