Christmas comes early for kids in Hungary. While most children around the world are preparing for a visit from Santa Claus December 25th, he makes his first stop in Hungary more than two weeks earlier.

Although the benevolent old gentleman is traditionally depicted wearing a red costume with white trim, in many European countries he still appears in other forms and he's known by different names.

The Hungarian capital is getting into festive mood. Christmas lights twinkle in the streets and chestnuts roast on open fires.

Hungarian children are thinking about presents.
