A group of artists in Cambodia has unveiled its latest creation - a snake sculpture made of decommissioned weapons. The artists have been hard at work since March 2007 - hammering, sawing and welding the weapons into a large sculpture in the shape a mythological cobra.

The cobra is revered as the original ancestor of the Khmer people. The rusted AK47s and other small arms were surrendered by residents of Cambodia's Battambang Province over the past few years. The 6.3-meter cobra weighs three tonnes and was made from 2,377 guns. It'll be on permanent display in a public park in Battambang.
