There's also a touch of serenity in Shanghai. East China is known for its exquisite and delicate gardens. The renown extends back to ancient times. During the National Day holidays, some of the gardens are being seen in a new light. Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai city is one of them.

At six pm, Yuyuan Garden dons its evening gown, as the entire setting is illuminated with multi-coloured lights. Silhouettes of pavilions, facades of buildings and bridges all come to life in an array of colors. Built during the Ming Dynasty's Jiajin Period, Yuyuan is honored as the finest garden in east China. Now the 400 year old site emerges as the most stylishly modern garden as well.
