As a key note pianist at the Beijing Music Festival, pianist Lang Lang has joined hands with the China Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra to perform the inspiring piano concerto "Yellow River". The grand tones resonated in Poly Theater on Friday night.
The collaboration between Lang Lang, the China Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and conductor Yu Long on the renowned piece, began in the year 2000. The piece "Yellow River" was composed in 1939. And Lang Lang has let shine the majestic vigour of the tune with his skillful and enthusiastic playing.
Lang Lang went to the Yellow River's Hukou waterfall in 2006 to witness the vigorous river. He also took away with him inspiration from his contact with locals living in the area. Lang Lang has been introducing "Yellow River" to audiences around the world ever since.
