In 1440, German engraver Johann Gutenburg invented the mechanical device that gave rise to the first printed word in Europe. From that time forward the power of the printed word never has ceased. Now the Germans have another innovation "Textbox" and they've brought it to Beijing. It's a high-tech device opening new ways to literature appreciation. The Germans are the Guests of Honor at the Beijing International Book Fair.
The opening ceremony unfolded in the presence of NPC vice chairman Xu Jialu, State Councilor Chen Zhili, Bernd Neumann, the German Minister of Culture and Media and Rede von Juergen Boos, Director of the Frankfurt Book Fair.
