An excavation of a neolithic tomb is revealing new facts about community life 5,000 years ago. The excavation has just concluded.

The excavation took place over nearly a month in the town of Ziling. Archaeologists combed an area of some two thousand square meters. The ground yielded more than six hundred pottery pieces, stone shuttles, and six precious jade artifacts. All the tombs were dug out from the hard rock. The largest contained more than 200 artifacts.
