Competitions always seem to have an atmosphere of intensity and the determination to win. The Chinese-Thai Interpretation Competition is an exception. It proved an entertaining experience for contestants, jurors and the audience. The final round of the competition was held Sunday in the Thai capital.

18 contestants were in the final; divided into student and youth groups. Questions cover news on Sino-Thailand exchanges and on anecdotes. Contestants are required to give impromptu interpretations. The translations always got a laugh and a big round of applause.
