Nearly every book stall was surrounded, the crowds swelled to a throng as the Shanghai Book Exhibition rolled through the week-end. Book lovers came from all over, making their way through the maze of publisher's kiosks and walked home with tomes of new treasures to add to their libraries.

The Book Exhibition balloons through five storeys of the Shanghai World Shopping Center. Almost every stall was surrounded. Most who came could not make time to visit during the week.

Mr. Dou said, "I'm an office worker working regularly from Monday to Friday. So I'm free only on weekends. I've bought around ten books so far."
