British princes William and Harry, an international line-up of pop stars, and a 70-thousand strong audience gathered at London's Wembley Stadium, Sunday. They were there to pay tribute to late princess Diana. The charity concert was a celebration of the life of Diana, on what would have been her 46th birthday.

The concert was opened by Elton John, a friend of the princess who sang at her funeral. He took to the piano to sing "Your Song".

The brothers greeted an estimated 70 thousand fans at the venue, and millions more watching the event on television worldwide.

Prince William said, "The evening is all about all that our mother loved in life: her music, her dance, her charities and her family and friends."

The princes arranged for an array of pop veterans to put on a 6 hour show broadcast to 145 countries. The memorial concert mixed rock, pop, hip-pop, and classical ballet. The ticket proceeds will go to charity causes Diana supported, including helping AIDS sufferers and land-mine victims.
