Top Chinese director Zhang Yimou made an appearance at a press event in Beijing's Poly Theater on Wednesday afternoon. The occasion was the release of the music CD of his "Impression: Lijiang", open air song and dance spectacular.
The promised press release turned out to be a stage performance itself. Participants were bemused to see dozens of minority group dancers and singers earnestly bashing out their numbers.
