If you try reading the books in the library of New York City's Grolier Club you may well end up needing to see an optician.

But the books in the collection are really an exhibition of some of the most ingenious examples of miniaturization ever seen.

They say you should never judge a book by its cover, but one may need a magnifying glass to even see the covers of these tiny books. Hundreds of miniature books, some only millimetres tall, are on exhibition at New York City's Grolier Club.

The display "Miniature Books: 4,000 Years of Tiny Treasures" features dollhouse-sized books ranging from the Bible to erotica.
