A rare 18th century violin is on show in New York. The instrument will go on auction next week, and experts say it could sell for up to one-and-a-half million US dollars at Christies auction house.
The "Solomon Ex-Lambert" violin was created by famous Italian violin-maker Antonio Stradivari in 1729. But on Tuesday, musicians from New York's famous Julliard school brought it back to life in Christies exhibition room in Manhattan. Experts say the workmanship of Stradivari's violins is vastly superior to that of other violins made during the same period.
The record price for any musical instrument is another Stradivari violin - "The Hammer" - which sold for nearly three point six million US dollars last year.
