For South Korean fashion designer Choi Bok-Ho, designing has never been simply about making beautiful dresses. His creations are like contemporary art works, meant for women who value intellect as much as appearance.
When the first few models stepped out wearing tunic-skirts with the smiling faces of South Korea's presidential candidates on them, you knew straight away that this is a designer living in the real world. This was political commentary as much as sartorial statement.
But unlike the angry punk-style anti-war T-shirts, Choi's approach is that of a mediator, not an agitator.
Choi Bok-Ho said, "South Korea is having its presidential election. And through my works, I intend to give expression to the hopes and expectations of the Korean people. We all want it to go smoothly and peacefully. We want an election result that's produced by a democratic and open political process, instead of shady maneuvering and deal making".
